Project areas are in MDT’s Billings and Glendive Districts, throughout Fergus, Musselshell, Phillips, and Garfield Counties.
- Five culverts will be repaired or replaced at three project areas located near the US Highway 191 (US 191) and Montana Highway 19 (MT 19) junction.
- Two culverts will be replaced south of Winifred on Secondary Highway 236 (S 236).
- Two culverts will be replaced north of Melstone on Secondary Highway 500 (S 500).
- Three culverts will be replaced, and one culvert will be repaired at four project areas that will be located near the US 191 and Montana Highway 66 (MT 66) junction.
- Two culverts will be repaired on Montana Highway 200 (MT 200) east of Mosby.
In addition to culvert replacements, the roadway will be reconstructed as necessary to match the existing site conditions.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2028, depending on completion of design and availability of funding. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of each roadway listed above, as well as to enhance safety features.
