Proposed work includes milling the existing pavement, replacing it with new asphalt, and applying a seal and cover (chip seal). New pedestrian crossing flashers will be added at Sanders Street and Oakes Street. Sidewalk corner ramps will be upgraded to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Additional work includes new signage and pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the roadway and to improve pedestrian crossing facilities.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2026 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Right-of-way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Relocation of utilities may also be necessary. MDT staff will contact affected landowners prior to survey work. Landowners may be contacted again prior to construction regarding temporary permits.
