Proposed work will begin about 2.5 miles north of Arlee and extend north to Ravalli. Resurfacing activities includes a rut fill, crack seal, seal and cover (chip seal), and fog seal.
Proposed safety improvements will occur about 5 miles south of Florence and includes milling the existing bridge ends, applying a new asphalt overlay, and applying a high friction surface treatment across a curve to increase roadway friction.
Both sections will include new rumble strips, pavement markings, signage, and delineation upgrades. The purpose of the project is to preserve the asphalt pavement to extend its service life, improve the ride due to rutting, and to enhance safety features.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2025 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
