MISSOULA, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will resurface about 7.5 miles of eight different roads in Missoula. Roadways include:

  • Reserve Street, south of Brooks Street.
  • Beckwith Avenue from Higgins Avenue to Arthur Avenue.
  • East Broadway Street, east of Van Buren Street.
  • South 3rd Street from Reserve Street to Russell Street.
  • Mullan Road from Reserve Street to Frey Lane.
  • Toole Avenue, Spruce Street, and Madison Street between West Broadway Street and East Broadway Street.

Proposed work includes a seal and cover (chip seal) and upgraded pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to preserve and extend the service life of the roadways.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2026 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Missoula office, PO Box 7039, Missoula, MT 59807-7039. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10565000.
