Construction resumes on MT 37 bridge preservation project

LIBBY and EUREKA, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), along with partner Sletten Construction Companies, are resuming bridge preservation activities on eleven bridges on Montana Highway 37 (MT 37).

The bridges included in this project are located between Libby and Eureka between mile marker 0.0 and 64.0. Work will resume this spring at the bridge located at mile marker 13.8.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of April 14th and will take multiple construction seasons to complete. Crews will be working from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Proposed rehabilitation work includes bridge deck replacement or overlay, milling and overlay work on approach roadways, bridge guardrail repairs or replacement, expansion joint replacement, and other minor repairs. The purpose of this bridge preservation project is to extend the service life of the structures.

Expect 10 to 15-minute delays, reduced speeds, and single-lane traffic when traveling through the project area. There is a 10-foot width restriction through the project area. Wide loads will need to find an alternate route. For the most up-to-date width restrictions and road conditions, visit 511mt.net.

The public is encouraged to contact Joan Redeen at 406-396-1978 with any questions or comments.
