GLENDIVE, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal to complete about 45 miles of pavement preservation activities along the following three separate routes in northeastern Montana:
- Montana Highway 24 (MT 24) in Valley County from the northern boundary of the Fort Peck Reservation to just over 16 miles north, ending at Opheim.
- Montana Highway 13 (MT 13) in Roosevelt County from about 4 miles south of Vida extending for nearly 21 miles, ending at the intersection with Montana Highway 25 (MT 25) just north of the Missouri River Bridge southeast of Wolf Point.
- Montana Highway 200 (MT 200) in Garfield County beginning at Jordan and extending east for approximately 8 miles.
Proposed work includes applying crack sealant. The purpose of the project is to prevent water infiltration and extend the service life of the pavement.
Construction is tentatively planned beyond MDT's 5-year planning horizon but has the potential to begin earlier depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10530000.
The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Frank at 406-345-8214 or Project Design Engineer Steve Heidner at 406-345-8247 with questions or comments about the project.
