MILES CITY, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will crack seal about 26 miles of Interstate 94 (I-94), west of Miles City. The project begins about two miles west of Exit 117 at Hathaway, and extends northeast, ending just north of Exit 141 (Baker Interchange) at Miles City.
Proposed work includes applying crack sealant along this segment of the I-94. The purpose of the project is to prevent water infiltration and extend the service life of the pavement.
Construction is tentatively planned beyond MDT's 5-year planning horizon but has the potential to begin earlier depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10529000.
The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Frank at 406-345-8214 or Project Design Engineer Steve Heidner at 406-345-8247 with questions or comments about the project.
