WYOLA, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will resurface about 11 miles of Interstate 90 (I-90), south of Lodge Grass. The project begins just north of the Wyola Interchange and extends south, ending at the Montana/Wyoming state line.
Proposed work includes digouts, full width crack sealing, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal) and pavement markings. In addition, the southbound bridge over the Wyola Interchange and the northbound bridge over the Aberdeen Interchange will receive bridge work including deck repair and a bridge deck crack repair. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the existing asphalt surfacing and bridge decks within the project area.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2028 but may be moved up depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way of utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed projects. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to the Montana Department of Transportation, Billings office, PO Box 20437, Billings, MT 59104-0437.
