MDT is planning to make the repairs by lining the existing culverts. Depending on condition, each culvert will be lined either partially or fully.
The purpose of the project is to enhance roadway safety.
Construction is tentatively planned beyond MDT's 5-year planning horizon, but has the potential to begin earlier depending on completion of design and availability of funds. New right-of-way or construction permits may be needed at culvert locations.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Billings office, PO Box 20437, Billings, MT 59104-0437. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10427000.
The public is encouraged to contact the Project Design Engineer Jacob Brotzler at 406-657-0266 or the Billings District Preconstruction Engineer Kurtis Schnieber at 406-657-0269 with questions or comments about the project.
