ANACONDA & DEER LODGE, Mont. – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Montana Lines Inc. have completed sidewalk and signal replacement work in Anaconda for the 2025 construction season.
Crews removed and replaced the concrete sidewalks with newer Americans with Disabilities Act compliant sidewalks at the Main Street intersections with Park Avenue and Commercial Avenue. Additionally, new traffic signals have been installed at these intersections.
“This work took a bit longer than anticipated due to utility work,” said Shane Clary, MDT’s Engineering Project Manager for the Butte District. “MDT and Montana Lines thank the public in Anaconda for their patience during the sidewalk and signal replacement.”
Work in Anaconda has wrapped up for the season, but crews will return next season to apply a seal and cover (chip seal) and new pavement markings to Montana Highway 1 (MT 1) between Polk Street and North Cable Road.
Work in Deer Lodge continues on this season, as crews are currently working on sidewalk and signal replacement at the intersection of Main Street and Milwaukee Avenue.
