GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a project that will resurface about 7.5 miles of Interstate 15 (I-15) through Great Falls. The project begins near Gore Hill and extends northeast, ending just past the Manchester Interchange. Most interchange ramps within the project limits will receive the same treatment.

Resurfacing work will include a crack seal and a seal and cover (chip seal), sealing the bridge decks, and applying new pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the roadway.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2029 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Great Falls office, PO Box 1359, Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10544000.

The public is encouraged to contact Great Falls District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Combs at 406-454-5900 or Project Design Engineer RJ Snyder at 406-459-5294 with questions or comments about the project.
