RAVALLI COUNTY, Mont. – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), in partnership with Schellinger Construction, has completed pavement preservation and safety enhancements on U.S. Highway 93 (US 93) near Darby. This work, spanning 13 miles between Rye Creek Bridge and ending north of the intersection at Camas Creek Loop, included Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk upgrades and various roadway improvements along the US 93 corridor.

“We appreciate the public’s patience during this project,” Bob Vosen, Missoula District Administrator, stated. “MDT’s top priority is safety, and throughout the project, our goal was to enhance safety features in this corridor and ensure the roadway and sidewalks continue to serve the traveling public.”

The project has preserved and extended the life of the existing pavement, providing a more efficient roadway for the thousands of vehicles that travel this route daily. The improvements will enhance safety, reduce maintenance costs, and improve the overall driving experience for residents and visitors in the area.

Construction began in April 2025 and was completed in October 2025. Work took place Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Cooperation and patience from the public were much appreciated during construction.
