LAKE COUNTY, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Kiewit Infrastructure Company will begin geotechnical investigation work in the US Highway 93 (US 93) Post Creek Hill area starting the week of January 19. Work will occur through the end of February. The schedule may fluctuate depending on weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Crews will be boring to test the soil’s ability to support a new bridge on and around US 93 between Dublin Gulch Road and McDonald Lake Road. This bridge will facilitate wildlife movement underneath the highway over Post Creek.
Traffic on US 93 will be impacted while crews are working. Drivers can expect alternating single lane, one-way traffic with signals facilitating traffic movement from each end of the work zone. All work will take place during daylight hours to enhance crew and driver safety. Please expect delays and be cautious of workers, equipment, and other drivers when traveling through the work zone.
More information will be provided prior to construction. Work installing the northbound truck climbing lane and the Post Creek bridge is anticipated to begin late summer 2026.
The public is encouraged to visit the project website at US 93 Post Creek Hill or contact Joan Redeen at 406-396-1978 with any questions or comments.
