SIMMS, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its contractor Montana Materials will be completing repair work on a failed culvert approximately 2.5 miles north of Simms on Secondary Highway 565 (S 565) at mile marker 2.4. During construction, S 565 will be closed from Blackfoot Coulee Road to Triple Iron Welding.
Work includes resetting the temporary culvert that was installed mid-December on an improved alignment to better accommodate aquatic resources until a full replacement project is ready for construction.
Construction activities are expected to begin the week of January 19 and occur for up to two weeks, dependent on weather and other unforeseen factors. Traffic control will be in place. Motorists can stay informed about road status by visiting 511mt.net or downloading the MDT 511 app on their phone.
The public is encouraged to contact Great Falls Project Delivery Engineer James Combs at 406-454-5900 with questions or comments about the project.
