LIBBY and EUREKA, Mont. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), along with partner Sletten Construction Companies, are resuming work rehabilitating eleven bridges on Montana Highway 37 (MT 37). Construction activities on this multi-year project are anticipated to be completed this fall.

The bridges are located between Libby and Eureka, between mile marker 0.0 and 64.0. Work will resume at the bridge located at mile marker 37.9, that crosses over Sheep Creek.

Crews are scheduled to begin working the week of April 13, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Work will vary on each bridge, and may include bridge deck replacement or overlay, milling and overlay work on approaches, bridge guardrail repairs or replacement, expansion joint replacement, as well as other minor repairs. The purpose of this bridge preservation project is to extend the service life of these structures.

Travelers should expect 10 to 15-minute delays, reduced speeds, and single-lane traffic when traveling through the project area. There is a 10-foot width restriction through the project area. Wide loads will need to find an alternate route. For the most up-to-date width restrictions and road conditions, visit 511mt.net.

The public is encouraged to contact Joan Redeen at 406-396-1978 with any questions or comment
