BELGRADE, Mont. – The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), DOWL, Morrison Maierle, the City of Belgrade, and project partners invite the public and media to attend an open house on Wednesday, April 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Belgrade Public Library in the Community Meeting Room (205 East Main Street, Belgrade). The event will feature design information and present future construction plans for three MDT projects: Belgrade Intersection Improvements, Amsterdam Road Intersection Improvements, and Jackrabbit – Madison to Main – Belgrade Urban (Belgrade Urban). The City of Belgrade will also provide details on additional City-led signal and intersection projects.
“The Belgrade area has seen a great deal of growth over the last 10 years,” MDT Butte District Administrator, Geno Liva, said. “This open house is a great opportunity for Belgrade folks to get a full picture of what they can expect from upcoming construction.”
This in-person open house will not include a formal presentation, and community members are welcome to stop by any time between 4 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at the Belgrade Public Library in the Community Meeting Room. Design drafts and early construction information will be available at the event. Project experts will be on hand to answer questions and accept comments.
The Belgrade Intersection Improvements project will enhance safety features at multiple intersections in Belgrade, including a new roundabout at Broadway and Main Street. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028. More information is available at mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/belgradeintersection.
The Amsterdam Road Intersection Improvements project includes traffic and safety improvements where Amsterdam Road intersects with River Rock Road and Green Belt Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028. More information is available
at mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/amsterdamintersection.
The Belgrade Urban project includes widening Jackrabbit Lane and adding an underpass for traffic to cross under the railroad. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2029. More information is available at mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/jackrabbit.
All project schedules are dependent on design completion and funding availability.
In addition, there are multiple City of Belgrade projects in progress. Information on these efforts will also be available at the open house event.
