HELENA, Mont.– The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will begin re-striping state-maintained roadways in the coming weeks. This is a slow moving, mobile operation. Equipment will be traveling around 10 mph.

Crews will be installing inlaid edge strips ad replacing center skip stripes. Bridge decks will be striped, but will not be inlaid. Work may also include replacing the edge and center skip strips in necessary areas.

Please watch for workers and follow all posted signage. Paint will be wet following application, and motorists should avoid driving on freshly striped lines.

This is an annual maintenance activity that occurs to maintain high-visibility guidance for motorists. This work enhances roadway safety features in order to reduce lane departure crashes.
