LAUREL, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner Knife River will be resuming construction activities on West Main Street/Old US Highway 10 West in Laurel this week.

Crews will rehabilitate the existing roadway, including crack sealing, applying an overlay and seal and cover (chip seal), and final pavement markings. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the roadway and enhance safety features. Work is expected to be complete in June, weather and other factors permitting.

Travelers should expect traffic control through the project area. Please follow all posted signage, and expect reduced speeds, temporary traffic signals or flaggers, to be guided through the project area by pilot cars, and 10-to-15-minute delays. Note that traffic control may move with construction activities.

The public is encouraged to contact Public Involvement Specialist Natalee Stout at 406-444-6021 with questions or comments about the project.
