REED POINT, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will construct an approach from Interstate 90 (I-90), approximately 5 miles southeast of Reed Point.

Proposed work includes constructing the approach, and revising pavement markings, signage, and guardrail. The purpose of the project is to provide access for irrigation ditch maintenance.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2028 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Right-of-way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Relocation of utilities may also be necessary.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Billings office, PO Box 20437, Billings, MT 59104-0437. Please note that comments are for project UPN 9928000.

The public is encouraged to contact Project Design Engineer Jacob Brotzler at 406-657-0266 or the Billings District Project Development Engineer Kurtis Schnieber at 406-657-0269 with questions or comments about the project.
