WHITEFISH, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), along with construction partner Knife River, Inc., will resurface about 2 miles of Twin Bridges Road, Secondary Highway 424 (S 424), beginning the week of June 1. The project begins near the intersection of Twin Bridges Road and Lodgepole Road and extends north to the intersection with US Highway 93 (US 93), between mile markers 15.77 and 17.1.
Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of June. Crews will be working from dawn to dusk. Schedules are dependent on weather and other unforeseen factors.
Improvements will include milling and paving operations. Crews will return to the project area mid-June to apply a seal and cover (chip seal) and new pavement markings.
The purpose of this construction project is to extend the service life of the existing roadway.
Motorists should expect flaggers and pilot cars guiding traffic, 15-minute delays, reduced speeds, and single-lane traffic when traveling through the project area. Wide loads over 12 feet in width must find an alternate route. Follow all posted signage and watch for workers. For the most up-to-date information, visit 511mt.net.
