HELENA, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is delivering ambulances to local recipients as part of its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Grant Program.

These grants enable rural and volunteer EMS to acquire transportation, as well as patient care resources and training equipment. As a result, rural communities across Montana have improved access to lifesaving care. Montana’s busy season is here, and its first responders are essential to ensuring those injured on our roadways receive appropriate post-crash care.

Ambulances that will be delivered this spring are Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 and 2025 grant recipients. They include:

FY2024 Award Total: $986,599.00

  • Roosevelt Medical Center
  • Hill County Ambulance
  • Community Ambulance Service of Western Sanders County

FY2025 Award Total: $701,442.30

  • Jefferson Valley Emergency Medical Services & Rescue
  • Grass Range Quick Response Unit
Since 2009 when the program was established by the Montana Legislature, MDT has awarded 213 grants totaling $15.2 million to enhance emergency services across the state. For more information, visit mdt.mt.gov/business/grants-ems.aspx.
