GREYCLIFF, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will replace 6 bridges on Old US Highway 10 (Old US 10) between Greycliff and Big Timber.

The purpose of the project is to replace existing structures with either a new bridge or culvert to meet current design standards.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2027 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Traffic disruptions are anticipated in 2027 and 2028. MDT would like feedback on utilization of route closures in this area to facilitate expedited construction.

Right-of-way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Relocation of utilities may also be necessary. MDT staff will contact affected landowners prior to survey work. Landowners may be contacted again prior to construction regarding temporary permits.

Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Billings office, PO Box 20437, Billings, MT 59104-0437. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10661000.

The public is encouraged to contact Billings District Engineering Project Manager James Stevenson at 406-657-0260 or Alternative Projects Engineer Brandon Graff at 406-444-2808 with questions or comments about the project.
