BUTTE, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner Sletten Construction Company have updated the construction schedule on two bridge improvement projects in the Butte area, weather and other factors permitting. The work is part of an effort to preserve and extend the life of key structures while enhancing safety for motorists.

Construction has begun on Centennial Avenue over the railroad. Full closures and detours are expected to be in place through mid-October.

Construction is expected to begin the week of May 11 on the Burlington Street bridge over Interstate 90 (I-90). Motorists on I-90 can expect lane shifts and reduced speeds from May through mid-August. Full closures and detours will be in place through construction.

Motorists are encouraged to watch for signage, follow posted speed limits in work zones, and plan for additional time when traveling through the area.
