LAME DEER, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is announcing and inviting the public to comment on a proposal that will resurface about 8 miles of Montana Highway 39 (MT 39), north of Lame Deer. The project begins at mile marker 4.2 near Bailey Lane, and extends north, ending at mile marker 12.4 near Lynch Lane.
Proposed work includes crack sealing, leveling, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), upgraded pavement markings, and new signage. The purpose of the project is to preserve and extend the life of the existing roadway.
Construction will occur after all design activities are completed and funding has been identified. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment-form.aspx or in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10678000.
The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Project Development Engineer Jim Frank at 406-345-8214 or Project Design Engineer Joy Fleming at 406-345-8221 with questions or comments about the project.
