BIG SKY, Mont. — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and CK May Excavating will be performing an asphalt overlay followed by a seal and cover (chip seal) on approximately 3 miles of US Highway 191 (US 191), extending from the intersection with Montana Highway 64 (MT 64) south to the River House.
Work is expected to occur the week of August 24, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting.
Travelers can expect crews to be working from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and traffic control to be in place. Because this section of US 191 has extra width, crews will maintain two-lane traffic whenever possible. During times when two-lane traffic is not feasible, MDT will implement enhanced flagging strategies to help reduce wait times for vehicles entering or exiting MT 64.
